What if all of Albany read the same book?
Everyone is again invited to participate in the third annual Albany Reads program. This year, the book chosen by a committee represented by the Albany Library, Albany Unified School District, Albany YMCA and the City of Albany, is Snow Mountain Passage by James D. Houston. Snow Mountain Passage tells the tragic tale of the Donner Party through the eyes of James Frazier Reed and his daughter Patty. The Friends of the Albany Library and the Albany Community Foundation will be sponsoring a series of programs in October – Book Discussion on Oct. 15 at 7; PBS Film Donner Party on Oct. 22 at 7 and a talk by author James D. Houston on Oct. 26 at 2 p.m.. All the programs will take place in the Albany Library/Community Center.
Copies of the book are now available at the Albany Library.
