The library is a great place to get books and other materials to fulfill some of those New Year’s Resolutions. A resolution we often make is to give back more to our community. The Friends of the Albany Library need people to help year round with the sorting and pricing of books donated in preparation for the sales. Much of the work is now done on the Internet. Emails go out several weeks prior to the book sales asking for a 2 hour committment – the big sale this year is May 17 and 18.
The Albany Library is looking for people to help with the Tuesday and Thursday afternoon Homework Center. The Center has a coodinator but many of the kids could use some one-on-one help. The Library is also looking for a few people to do some one-on-one Internet tutoring for adults – a specific hour on a weekly or monthly basis.
